![]() ![]() ![]() I then got a 1030 GT for my current computer (3rd gen i7 machine) to get a reasonable framerate in Crysis 2, but it still leaves a lot to be desired. The 9800GT was in my desktop when my OCZ power supply exploded filling my dorm room with awful smelling smoke (this was a really fun evening, and also why I now know not to cheap out on power supplies). The replacement 9600GT then went into my HTPC and my senior year the cooling fan exploded sending the blades all over the inside of my case and startling my roommate and I (I will never buy another Zotac card because of this). Then my freshman year in college I got a 9600GT but it would overheat playing Crysis, so I RMA'd it and bought a 9800GT. My first GPU was a Radeon X1650PRO in the computer I built in High School. This will also solve my HDMI to DVI adapter issue. If the card is calling it quits, I have a GT 1030 I can throw in it for them, and I'll just take this opportunity to upgrade my GPU, my 3DMark is low enough that I can't submit a score because it thinks G-Sync is enabled and limiting frames to under 60, but my card and monitors don't support G-Sync, so its just a low end card. I will see if my father is comfortable reseating the RAM, if not I'll have him run MEMTEST for a day. OK, unfortunately they only have 1 desktop so I would need to run up there and bring the card back to my house (they live 2 hours away). ![]()
